Kathan Inn & Resort Policy

The following Resort Policy has been established for your comfort and security and for the convenience of all our guests.

DEPOSIT: A 25% deposit is required by personal check or credit card.  The remainder of payment is due on arrival by cash or credit card (Sorry, no personal checks for remainder of payment.)

CANCELLATION: We will refund your deposit, less $25, for a cancellation if we are able to fill the canceled cabin. Full refunds will be given for cabins canceled during the winter months due to poor weather conditions resulting in the closing of the snowmobile trails; the only exception being the week between Christmas and New Year's, and the week of the World Championship Snowmobile Derby.

Cabin rentals include:

• Bed linens

• Personal Towels can be furnished at a charge of $4.00 per towel set.
  (Towel set = 1 bath, 1 wash, 1 hand)

• Kitchen equipped for housekeeping, with dishes, cookware, a refrigerator, gas stove with oven and a microwave.

• Charcoal grill (charcoal and lighter fluid not provided)

• Picnic table

• 12’ aluminum fishing boat equipped with life jackets, cushions and oars.

• Trolling motors may be rented for $15/day or $50/week.

• Individual fire pits with split firewood provided. Additional wood is available if needed at the log shed across from the Fern. The renter is responsible for transporting any additional firewood needed.

• Cribs and high chairs are available upon request (no charge).

• Use of Volleyball court, horseshoe pits, basketball court, swimming area, and children's playground

• During the winter months, snowmobiling from your doorstep (we are located at the intersection of the Eagle River and Sugar Camp snowmobile trails.

Occupancy – There will be a charge of $75 per week or $20 per day for each guest over the normal capacity in any of the cabins. The 2-bedroom cabins have a normal capacity of 4 persons.  The 3-bedroom cabin has a normal capacity of 6 persons.

CHECK-OUT - Check-out time is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Depending on reservations for incoming guests, you may be able to pre-arrange a late check out through our office.  If you haven’t made late check-out arrangements and do not vacate by the check-out time, you will incur a $20 per hour charge.  Additionally, if your failure to vacate interferes with the check-in of another guest, you will also be charged a fee equal to the daily rate.

Cabins should left in the same manner they were in upon arrival, i.e., no dirty dishes, litter or other abnormal cleaning should need to be done by our staff. Guests are expected to dispose of any trash in the dumpster upon departure.

LOST KEYS: $10 charge for each key not returned.

Quiet Hours – 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Additionally, please do not expose your neighbors to excessive noise at any time.

Firearms/Fireworks – For your safety, no firearms, lethal weapons or fireworks are permitted on Resort property.

Pets – Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior are restricted from the Resort. There is a $50 per pet per week charge for pets. Pets must be kept on a leash while outside the cabin. If pets are left alone, inside or outside, they must be kenneled. 

Trash – Garbage cans with plastic liners are provided in the cabins. Please dispose of full bags of garbage in the dumpster located on the property. We do not provide disposal receptacles for oversized or hazardous items. Littering of any kind, including cigarette butts and pet waste, on the Resort premises is not tolerated. Due to wind, weather and animals, please do not dispose of trash in the outdoor trash cans located at the cabins. These cans are meant for ash, if needed, from the fire pits.

Registered Guests – All persons staying on a site must be registered by name with the office and a fee paid if applicable.

Visitors – If you entertain visitors at the Resort, you are responsible for their conduct while on the Resort premises and are responsible for any damages incurred by them. 

Children – Parents are fully liable and responsible for the acts and conduct of their children at all times.

Traffic – The speed limit within the Resort is 5 mph. CHILDREN AT PLAY!!!

Automobiles – Maximum of two vehicles at 2-bedroom cabins. Maximum of three vehicles at 3-bedroom cabins. Major repairing of any vehicle, changing of oil, flushing of radiators, or cleaning engines or parts may not be done at the Resort. 

Docks – Our docks are for the use of our guests.  Each cabin is supplied with a 12-ft aluminum boat.  Boats are not equipped with navigation lights and should not be used after dark. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times when using a boat.

Liability – All facilities are used at your own risk.  Our equipment, apparatus and facilities are furnished solely for the convenience of our registered guests.  All persons using such do so at their own risk.  The management will not be responsible for accidents, injuries or loss of property by fire, theft, wind or acts of God.

Failure to comply with these policies may result in your leaving the resort with no refund and future reservations being cancelled.
